i've never had any probs running in eyes when it's warm Dao....but it ain't fun and I don't do it unless I'm running behind...usually budding starts around 5.00am and you go till 1.00 ish and then maybe sart up again around 4-5 and do another few hours..the older I get the more flexible these hours are!!!...I find if your mind/heart isn't in it then you need to walk away for a bit and hot weather certainly encourages that. What I would say is that the hotter it is..the more important it is that the patch gets on quick. If the sap flow and budwood are right and the patch is on quick then the strke rate shouldn't change at all....stock can "tighten up" later in the day but it's more a symptom of the sap flow not being right in the first place.

Any one who have statistics about success rate when doing budding at the middle of summer? I get very decent success rate at this moment when temperature is up to 36C. But it looks like some rose buds (types) just could not survive this kind of stress. This kind of heat dries the bud out quite quickly if it could not established decent connection of the cambium layers within 3-4 days. My bud transfer process has produced only about 80% success rate in this heat. It's supposed to be near 100% in ideal climate.
