On this matter of speed, when Dao first changed the system we all where having trouble if my memory serves me right. We came to the forum in 2004, had the worst dial up you could imagine, Telstra line, had replaced, got better. Jan 2008, went satellite as we can not get broadband 5km from the exchange. Since the system that Dao installed has settled we have only had one occurrence of pages not opening. I opened Elders this morning and it took a lot of time, can that be explained as a glitch or Dao's fault. Hope things get better for you "mushroom".

The general discussions are the pages that won't load for me all others are OK. I am on Windows XL and the computer is just under 21 months old.

I have satellite broadband and a 1G plan which I share. It is a shaped plan so it is slowed when I go over (which is frequently). I can live with that. I have absolutely no problem with this site. It loads normally and is as fast as any other site.
Cheers

Dao the site has not worked correctly since you made the changes in May..remember?
All of us had trouble loading pages and you basically told us to change our browsers, load different programs, change how our computers were operating, because it was working great for you. That was the end of the conversation as I remember.

This is why I seldom post anymore (which I said in a post some time ago), half the time I can't get the pages to load, then if I start to post I can't get through the process.
I am on a new computer with broadband and have no problems on any other sites. Maybe one day I will think about making all the changes you sugest so I can use your site with out all the hastles, but not till I have problems on other sites. Till then I beleive the problem is on this board and has nothing to do with my server my computer or the programs I use.

Sorry you having problems with your server.

On my end pages often fail to load fully requiring refreshing until they decide to load... and I'm on broadband. It's beginning to be most frustrating as no other site does this.
When the only tool you own is a hammer, every problem starts looking like a nail...

My connection has been slowed to 64Kbps. This is the first time I can use the connection after it has been slowed down. At this speed it's quite workable because it's still many times faster than a dialup modem connection at 24Kbps. I used to use 24Kbps dialup before. Optus and Telstra are two companies that I know from experience really cheat users. When they slow the connection down, the connection became completely unusable for me. They wanted me to upgrade to a higher plan. I would not be able to drop back down until the next month.

I am glad now that this company is decent enough to set 64Kbps exactly as it is rather than setting to about 5Kbps then lied about it.
